Obama Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize.
BBC - World's Reaction
General worldwide reaction: Surprise.
My Opinion: Yes, he has promoted peace - so have millions and millions of others
From USATODAY:
"On Friday, Carter called the award to Obama a "bold statement of international support for his vision and commitment."'
So, awarding this prize is actually just supporting a person's "plan" or "vision"? Not actions or accomplishments?
Well, in that case, I would suggest Karl Marx (founder of communism/communalism) for a Nobel peace prize. He had an amazing plan that promoted community, peace and unity!
Again from USATODAY:
Obama said he was "both surprised and deeply humbled" to receive the prize and did not feel deserving to be among "transformative figures" who were among previous honorees.
- well, it IS possible to decline if you TRULY believe you don't deserve it Refusals of the Prizes
"But I also know that this prize reflects the kind of world that those men and women and all Americans want to build, a world that gives life to the promise of our founding documents," he said.
- Huh, I guess I need to re-read those "founding documents" again a few more times.
I have to admit, the President has accomplished some things. But, in my opinion (which is shared by many other Americans - the dropping polls attest to this fact) He has not accomplished enough for this nomination.
Here is an interesting fact:
not - yet - President, Obama, was "invited" in September of 2008.
Then, February 1 of the following year (2009) was the deadline for submissions from the "invited"

Christian "Acid Hard Rock"
This is just my 2 cents I posted on a forum in a topic about whether or not it is OK for Christians to listen to "christian acid hard rock". WHAT!?!?! you may say...IS ther such a thing....NO...this spurred this response:
--------------------------------------
I just talked to Andrew about this very very briefly.
What exactly do you mean by "christian acid"?
The music genres with the term "acid" in their names are generally genres with music laced with confusing (for lack of better word) electronica and techno. I am not implying that electronica and techno is bad by any means. The tag "acid" was applied to a few other genres including house, trance, jazz, rap and rock.
As far as acid+rock is concerned, it was basically just a name for particular songs/bands that basically wrote most of their music under the influence of LSD.
I did see on Wiki that Acid Rock was a term used when "heavy rock" and Metal became more popular in the 70's.
All that being said.
What music are you talking about?
Heavy metal/Death metal: Most is unintelligible, Music is quite chaotic
ex: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOWB6rmSd4I Secular band "lamb of god" (yes...secular.... don't look up lyrics and don't listen long...lol) Not aware of any Christian HM or DM bands
Metal: DEPENDING ON BAND: Intelligible, SOME screaming (not really screamo-screaming...hard to explain), Music is basically "rock" with a little more base tones.
ex: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oD2t1qLJGLQ Christian Band "Demon Hunter"
(As I said...depend on band...metal covers a large spectrum)
Screamo: Mostly Unintelligible (depends on band), Entire song is all screaming (some bands have some kind of chorus with normal singing)
ex: Not willing to paste any links, Most screamo is extremely obscene (both lyrics and videos) Only aware of a couple Christian screamo bands.
Rock: Pretty much anything that has a guitar and drums.
Examples range from borderline secular screamo to Christian "easy listening"
Of course you have all kinds of other genras that encompass all of the bove and more.
A few of the bands mentioned:
Relient K: Punk rock, Christian rock, Pop punk, Post-hardcore
Skillet: Christian rock, Christian metal, Post-grunge
Superchick: Christian Rock
DC Talk: Rock, R&B, Hip hop, Christian Rock
tobyMac: Christian hip hop, Christian rock, Rap rock, Funk rock, Alternative rock
So...
My points are:
1. Know what you mean by "acid" or "heavy metal"
2. You can't judge a band my its Genre.
Look at Relient K. One of the genres it is labeled under is "punk rock" Some of the more disturbing secular "rock bands" are labeled as "punk rock"
Does this make all of Relient K's songs bad? In my opinion...no way!
I know some will disagree and say that bands are given genre labels for a reason. Just like how you can watch anything rated PG-13 because it is ok for anyone under 13. (oh, wait, the last pg-13 movie I saw had excessive swearing in it).
The wePod
The iPod is an mp3 player with a single headphone jack for an individual to use. Why not buy a splitter and make it a wePod for several people to use?

Hey all,
I am not sure if anyone is actively following this blog, but, nevertheless.
I am finally Somewhat available to start writing more frequent entries. Future entries will probably be of more "life story" type rather than Apologetics. I will, of course strive to pass along any useful Techy info and tips I find.
